Why clean
One maker's warning sheet says fog and haze machines are prone to clogging, and that regular cleaning helps.
The routine
The same sheet says: unplug, empty the fluid, add the maker's cleaning solution, warm up, run in a well-ventilated area until the tank is almost empty, never let the pump run dry, then refill and run briefly.
How often
It says to run its cleaner after every 40 hours of operation. The manual for one model says no more than 90 days between cleanings. Check yours.
Storage
The maker says to drain the tank before transporting or storing, and to run the cleaner before storage.

FAQ
General information only. Follow your machine's manual and the label on any fluid. Fog and haze can set off smoke alarms and make it hard to see. Never disable an alarm. Check the venue's or building's rules before you use any effect. Dry ice can cause frostbite and gives off carbon dioxide, which can build up in low or enclosed spaces. Never touch it with bare hands, never seal it in a container, use it only with good ventilation, and keep it away from children and pets. Anyone with asthma or another breathing condition should ask a doctor before being around fog, haze, or dry ice effects.
